With winter’s arrival we welcome the beauty of slowed moments and invite the times for quiet contemplation in this season of hibernation. Winter has a way of softening the harsh edges of the world with its silver mornings that arrive wrapped in mystical mysteries. With its earie touch nipping at our noses, we find comfort in small pleasures of warmth. Teacups linger a little longer in our hands, the crackling of a flame ignites the fire in our hearts that was lost to winter’s bite, the jumper we almost threw away from the oblivion of summer’s tepid kiss, now rests snuggly on our shoulders furnishing a new era.

We wrap ourselves between the pages of books; finding ourselves lost between the folds in worlds of our imagination. This is the season for expanding the world within us; a world where libraries are forged to hold the memories we cling to, where constellations connect seemingly unrelated moments to meaningful patterns, hidden gardens are found harbouring forgotten dreams that bloom beside new beginnings, and where forests become littered with footsteps on the paths that each lead to a different and delectable opportunity. While never leaving the safe confines of our homes or furthermore, our mind. In between these pages you’ll find thoughtful inspiration, cosy ideas, and little pockets of delight designed to brighten up the colder days. Like finding an unexpected wildflower amongst a frosted path, we hope each story offers something of cherished value to carry with you.

So settle in, make yourself something warm, and stay huddled up in the knowledge that this season isn’t something to cower from, but rather something to embrace with open arms and grasp with mitten covered hands.

Winter may whisper instead of sing but if you listen closely, it has the loveliest stories to tell.
